SATURDAY RAFFLE RESULTS SHOW CLUB’S MULTI-CULTURALISM

Nice to see a change in winners of meat trays yesterday with a strong
European flavour. A fair dinkum Aussie in Mr Andrew Thompson who I
suspect may have a very strong English background won the first
Cliffex meat tray. The French jumped to the fore when the second meat
tray went to Monsieur Pierre le Boeuf who has continually supported
the raffle since its inception, and will now be able to say he’s
finally beaten Mike Henry in the race for prizes. The Doughnut Man,
Signor Roberto di Virgilio, again won a six-pack of Crown Lager. I
think that’s about his fourth. Congratulations to those winners.
There will be no raffle on Grand Final Day because I will pursue my
favourite routine on that day: a barbecue lunch, a bottle of bubbly
and a relaxing viewing of the big game. Because I admire Nick Natanui
I hope the Eagles win, but I just wish the Blues were there instead.
