Raffle

Another busy Saturday afternoon combined when those competing in the club championships and quite a number of guests and family members showing their support brought good numbers to involve themselves in the announcement of results. With the raffle going full on, it became difficult to keep tabs on party pies and sausage rolls heating up, but I would think most of the crowd got their share of calorie consumption. First prize in the raffle went to guest Charlie K, who arrived in the Robin Hicks party late in the afternoon. A Cliffex meat tray was a nice way to look forward to consumption over the next few days. Second Cliffex meat tray went to Brian Munn, who as acting Captain for the day had organised his barbecue lunch in preparation for what may be an even better barbecue on Sunday. The Crown Lager six-pack was won by Kevin Biggadike.

We draw the attention of members and friends to the forthcoming Christmas celebrations on 6 December when a jumping castle and lots of novelties will be in action for children together with an appearance by Santa. Last year there were eight hampers drawn in the annual raffle, and it looks as though that record will be
equalled, if not beaten, this year. Tickets are available at the bar with the normal price of $2.00 per ticket or $5.00 for three. For those donating goods you have less than two weeks to fulfill that promise, so let’s see just what we can offer the public on that final fund-raising effort for the year.
