Ladies Golf Results – 2021 Challenge Bowl, Friday 26th March

A perfect Autumn day greeted the 84 ladies playing in the Valley Ladies Challenge Bowl on Friday 26th March. With 21 teams entered it was the biggest field we have had for this 4BBB Stableford event.

The course was in sensational condition thanks to all the hard work put in by Damon & his team plus the Doers & Divas. A big thanks to all & especially to the ground staff who were out very early on Friday morning to ensure the course looked the best it possibly could for the day. There were many great compliments about the greens & course in general so well done team! There were some excellent scores on the day & it was a very close contest too as the results below show:

Winners: Maryke Scott, Barbara Birch, Ann Dumsa & Joan Lynch from Mt Martha with a combined total of 79 points. Runners Up: Cora Shovelton, Ros Harding, Deb Ratten & Helen Lange from Cardinia Beaconhills with a combined total of 78 points. Best Pair: Deb Ratten & Helen Lange from Cardinia Beaconhills with 44 points. 1st Team Entered: The National received a gift pack each. To receive a ball a total of 39 points or better was required, well done to the following ladies: Kris Cecchini & Faye Pitman, Marg Wright & Kath Lacey, June Kiely & Pat Mulholland, Val Bookless & Anne McCormack, Jenny Jeffreys & Jill Leonard.

Congratulations to all the winners & a big thanks to all the clubs that supported this event as follows: Bayviews, Carrington Park at Eagle Ridge*2, Centenary Park*2, Cerberus*2, Devilbend, Keysborough, Moonah Links, Mornington, Mt Martha*2, Portsea, Rosebud, Sandhurst, The Dunes & The National. The Valley was also represented by 2 teams on the day.

Thanks to Scott Elks, Adam Westaway, Colleen Blackmore & Julie Nolo from the Bendigo Bank who donated the raffle prizes with the lucky winners being: Brenda Uren from Devilbend, Sharon Baker from Moonah Links, Lou Verstraelen from the Valley & Ros Harding from Cardinia Beaconhills.

A big thanks to the catering team for the fabulous lunch provided for the ladies and all the volunteers. There were many compliments about the food from our visitors. Special thanks to all the Ladies Committee & helpers on the day, you were fantastic & contributed so much. Final thanks go to all the ladies who donated items for the Trading Table which together with the raffle helped us raise significant funds on the day. Great job everyone!
