A magic Autumn morning saw a total of 47 ladies (30*18 hole players & 17*9 hole players) on course to compete in the Par event held today. There was the added bonus of the Grandmother’s Trophy being up for grabs in both the 9 & hole events. Par is not the most popular format in golf however after her round yesterday Joan Spence has decided it’s not so bad after all. The last time Joan played, Par was described as ‘Not Fair Golf’ but it has now suddenly become Joan’s favourite format. That captures golf in a nutshell, it can be a challenge one day then everything comes together the next! As you will see below there were some pretty amazing scores all round.
18 Hole Players – B Grade Winner: Joan Spence (30) 3 Up, Runner Up: Jean Harle (32) Square. C Grade Winner: Corina Cross (36) 5 Up, Runner Up: Gerri Robson (44) 1 Up on count back from Helen Danson & Anita Powell. Well done to all ladies & Congratulations to Corina who is the winner of the Grandmother’s Trophy for 2020.
9 Hole Players – Winner: Lee Grubb (45) 3 Up, Runner Up: Dot Crompton (45) 2 Down on count back from Susan Driver & Kath Dobson. Congratulations to the Lee who is the winner of the 9 hole Grandmother’s Trophy with another super score.
NTP’s: 4th Hole: Lyn Greer, 14th Hole: Joan Spence. Well done to Lyn who was close enough to get a birdie.
Pro Balls – 18 Hole Players: Helen Danson, Anita Powell, Sharon deHaan, Colleen Blackmore, Cathy Roussis, Sue White & Val Morrison. 9 Hole Players: Susan Driver, Kath Dobson, Joan Davies & Pat Tindal.
We are all hoping for more good weather on Friday when Safety Beach ladies are hosting the 6 other Pennant teams at our course which is looking quite stunning.
Next week is the start of the 2 round 4BBB Stableford Club Championship event for both the 9 & 18 hole players. Remember to book online with your partner by Thursday night. A draw will then be sent to all players via email. As it St Patrick’s Day, it would be great to see all ladies wearing something green or orange, or both, to celebrate this day. In the meantime, good golfing everyone!
