Well another dreary morning for the start of golf today but thankfully the rain stayed away, just! The conditions were pretty tough due to overnight rain & the greens still recovering from the recent coring & sanding which we know has to be done.
There were 42 ladies on course playing in the stroke & putting events today & the scores definitely indicated that it was far from easy out there. All results are below:
18-Hole Event: 24 Players
Winner B Grade ($20 voucher): Liz Gregory (31) Nett 73, well done Liz!
Runner Up (2 Balls): Denise Law (26) Nett 74.
Winner C Grade ($20 voucher): Maureen Cousins (38) Nett 70. With this score Maureen is a worthy Medal winner for May & another first time winner so a big congratulations! Maureen is also the final qualifier for the Silver Spoon. The play-off to decide who represents the Valley at this event for 2021 will be held in June on the 1st & 5th. The winner will be the player with the best score recorded of all medal winners (Tuesday & Saturday) from February this year.
Runner Up (2 Balls): Viv Goodson (35) Nett 72.
Pro Ball Winners (Nett 79 or better): Anita Powell, Cheryl Westcott, Colleen Blackmore, Gerri Robson, Val Morrison & Deb Sein.
Putting: Val Morrison with 29 putts won a sleeve of balls.
9-Hole Event: 18 Players
Winner ($20 voucher): Angie Hunter (43) Nett 34, a great score.

NTP (1 ball) 8th Hole: Gerri Robson.
NTP (1 ball) 14th Hole: Denise Law & Sharon De Haan. Apparently a measure could not even separate them!
Neatest Cards: 9 Holes – Glenn Barber, 18 Holes – Vicki Mallcott. Both ladies won a sleeve of balls.
Remember to find a partner for the Foursomes Championship (9 & 18 holes) then enter your names together on the booking sheet. The 1st round is on Tuesday the 18th May. Those ladies playing in the Multi-Day 18-hole event must advise Linda prior to Saturday if they plan to compete on Saturday otherwise all scores on Tuesday will count. At this stage only Donna McLerie & Michele Cooke have opted to play on Saturday.
Enjoy the rest of the week & stay safe.
