Finally a lovely fine day for Tuesday golf when all ladies were playing Stroke Foursomes and the 1st round of the Club Championships for both the 9 and 18 hole players. Most agreed that there should be no ‘sorry partner’ but this is easier said than done, especially when you put your partner in a tricky spot! Most seemed to have a fun day though and both events are very close with only 1 or 2 strokes separating the pairs so next week will be interesting. A total of 44 ladies played today with results for the day competition below:
18 Hole Players – Winners: Barbara Bright & Joan Spence (23) Nett 69 on count back from Runners Up: Colleen Blackmore & Corina Cross (30). Congratulations ladies.
9 Hole Players – Winners: Pat Webster & Renate Weiner (22) Nett 38, Runners Up: Judy Ireland & Lucy Bond (22) 39 on count back from Lee Grubb & Pat Tindal.
NTP’s – 2nd Hole: Sue O’Connor, 17th Hole: Corina Cross.
Pro Balls – 18 Hole Players: Sue O’Connor, Michele Cooke, Jenny Williamson, Cathy Roussis, Lyn Greer & Vicki Mallcott. 9 Hole Players: Lee Grubb, Pat Tindal, Di Camilleri, Margarite Stewart, Sharon DeHaan & Cheryl Saker.
Next week is an 8am start for the 18 hole players and starting from the 10th tee so the 9 hole ladies can play the back 9 as the 2nd round of their championship. The draw will be seeded, based on today’s results, for all players.
Good luck to the Midweek Matchplay team on Thursday at Cape Schanck against Rosebud in their final match for the year and also to all the ladies playing at Eagle Ridge in the Diamond Classic on Monday 21st.
