Today was the 1st round of the 4BBB Stableford Club Championship event for both the 9 & 18 hole players. All ladies were wearing the colours of Ireland to help celebrate St Patrick’s Day on a spectacular Autumn day. The course looked stunning & despite the greens being tough after coring & scarifying taking place on Monday there were some fantastic scores recorded. The lovely weather lately is certainly encouraging more ladies to play despite the uncertain climate around COVID-19 as there were 46 ladies (30*18 hole players & 16*9 hole players) on course for this event. On such a fabulous day it was decided to hold presentations outside which proved challenging when one of the ground staff arrived with loud machinery to work on the practice putting area! Results for the day are below:
18 Hole Players – Winners: Colleen Blackmore (29) & Penny McCarthy (37) 45 Points, Runners Up: Jean Harle (32) & Barbara Bright (18) 44 Points on count back from Sharon deHaan & Gerri Robson. 9 Hole Players – Winners: Lee Grubb (45) & Susan Driver (45) 21 Points, Runners Up: Judy Hunter (45) & Diane Tullberg (41) 15 Points. Congratulations to all the winners & good luck to all ladies in both events for the 2nd round next week.
Pro Ball Winners – 18 Hole Players (Needed 40 points or better!): Gerri Robson, Sharon deHaan, Val Morrison, Viv Goodson, Lynn Gray & Joan Spence. 9 Hole Players (Needed 13 points or better): Enid Hamilton, Cheryl Saker, Marj Burridge & Barbara Clarke on count back from Joan Davies & Kath Dobson who just missed out, sorry ladies! A big thanks to Cheryl who agreed to play on Monday evening to ensure Enid had a partner.
NTP’s – 8th Hole: Barbara Bright, 17th Hole: Jenny Dovison.
Next week is the 2nd round of the 4BBB Club Champs when we play the back 9 first so the 9 hole ladies play both 9’s for their Championship. Please still book online by Thursday night as some players are unavailable next week due to other commitments & a seeded draw is required. This will be emailed out to all ladies by Saturday morning at the latest.
Good Luck to the Ladies Pennant Team for their match against Berwick Montuna at Cape Schanck on Thursday & keep safe.
