Ladies Golf Results – Tuesday 18th May 2021

A much better day for ladies golf today with cloudy skies light wind to start & brief sunshine. Both the 9 & 18-hole ladies were playing in the 1st round of the Foursomes Championships. Great numbers again with 36*18 hole players & 16*9-hole players, so good to see at this time of year when many people start to head north to the sunnier climes. It was nice to see Ros Frame back from visiting family in NZ & Brenda Rogers taking a break from Board duties to play some golf!

Penny McCarthy was presented today with the May Monthly Medal she won on Saturday 1st May with a fabulous nett 61.

The results for the day are below:

18-Hole Event: 36 Players

Winners ($30 voucher each): Denise Law (27) & Val Morrison (36) Nett 73.5.

Runners Up ($15 voucher each): Gerri Robson (33) & Sue White (35) Nett 74 so a close contest!

Pro Ball Winners (Nett 76 or better): Liz Gregory, Kathy Iredale, Barbara Sargent, Viv Goodson, Maureen Cousins, Jodi Crago, Lyn Greer & Judith Whittaker.

For those not able to stay for the presentation, please note that all ball prizes are to be collected from the Pro Shop.

Remember to book by Thursday night for next Tuesday 25th May when it is the 2nd round of the Foursomes Championship. The 9-hole ladies will play the back 9 & the 18-hole ladies will start from the 10th tee.

The seeded draw (based on gross scores today) for both groups will be emailed to everyone on Friday & One Golf will reflect the draw for those who have trouble with the attachments I send.

For the benefit of those ladies not present today, we have sourced some polo shirts (from Jodi Crago) & plan to take orders next Tuesday. We have a few samples plus size details to help you work out what works for you & we hope the price will be no more than $35. Jodi also has some long sleeve polos available & will hopefully have more samples next week & will confirm the likely price then.

We are looking at organising a ladies golf away day at Frankston in July or August for those still in Victoria. Cost will be $50 & you can play 9 or 18 holes for this price plus bring your own food & drink. Please advise Linda via email if interested.

Now that the Par 3 course is registered with Golf Australia & clearly marked with plates on the holes that are not normally a par 3, the Ladies Committee have decided we will hold a Par 3 Championship probably during August for both the 9 & 18 hole players. This should be fun & keep everyone playing during the colder weather. More details will be provided closer to the time.

Enjoy the rest of the week & stay safe everyone!
