Ladies Golf Results – Tuesday 19th March 2019

Today was the first round of the Ladies 4BBB Stableford Club Championships for both the 9 and 18-hole ladies and thankfully the weather was much nicer than last week. While it was a little overcast there was no wind and relatively warm so ideal conditions to play good golf. There were only 34 ladies playing yesterday so a lot lower than usual as many ladies are away or injured! Judging by the results below most pairs obviously enjoyed the course:

18 Hole Players – Winners: Corina Cross (32) & Lyn Greer (29) 39 Points on count back from Runners Up: Pam Scholtz (34) & Colleen Blackmore (30) 39 Points. There are 2 other pairs on 38 points then another 2 pairs on 37 points so it’s a very tight contest for the trophy this year! It was great to see Maureen Cousins back playing golf yesterday too.

9 Hole Players – Winners: Judith Hunter (40) & Diane Tullberg (37) 18 Points, Runners Up: Lee Grubb (45) & Pat Tindal (42) 17 Points. Another tight contest, well done ladies and good luck to all pairs for both events next week.

NTP’s – 4th Hole: Diane Tullberg, 18th Hole: Ros Frame.

Pro Balls – 18 Hole Players: Jodi Cragon, Denise Law, June Roach, Maureen Cousins, Colleen Warfield & Barbara Bright. 9 Hole Players: Gerri Robson & Pat Webster.

Well done to the Ladies Pennant Team and all those who helped make our hosting day such a success. Whilst the team lost 6.5 to 0.5 all ladies played above themselves and gave Cardinia Beaconhills a good contest. The handicap variations were significant so all players did an exceptional job! Thanks to Team Manager Corina Cross and all the caddies for keeping our players positive, you all do a super job.          Those who helped with preparation of the lunch also did an outstanding job so many thanks to the following for your help on the day. We appreciate you giving up your time to help: Lucy Bond, Barbara Sargent, Jean Harle, Ros Champion, Jenny Dovison (also starter & rules adjudicator) Viv Goodson (also starter) Val Morrison, Diane Tullberg, Helen Danson & Margaret Carroll who organised the salad ingredients. Thanks also to Joan Spence for ensuring the outside toilets were clean, Kim Reynolds for organising the water for the players & caddies and Karen Rikken for ensuring there were sufficient volunteers to manage the bar as well as doing a stint herself! A special thanks to Colleen Warfield who not only purchased the chickens for one of the main courses but Colleen cooked & sliced them as well as playing on the day! Thanks also to Neil Fredricson and Shane Johnson for helping to sort out carts for the ladies who booked them. These events would also not be possible without help from Damon, his staff & all those who volunteer their time to keep the course in such great condition despite the many challenges they face, so thanks to all involved. We really appreciate all that you do!

The next match for the team is on Friday 22nd March at Cardinia Beaconhills against Carrington Park. Good luck ladies!
