The first round of the Senga McAleer Trophy was held today for the 18 hole players on an overcast, cool but calm day, perfect for golf. The 9-hole ladies were also playing Par and there were some good scores from all. A total of 43 ladies played today with 21 in the 18 hole event and 22 in the 9 hole event. The 9 hole ladies had a guest player today, Shirley Shelton, from Trentham GC. Shirley is moving to the Peninsula next year so we hope Shirley may join Safety Beach GC then. Results for the day are as follows:
18 Hole Players – B Grade Winner: Barbara Bright (18) 1 Up, Runner Up: Ros Frame (25) 2 Down. C Grade Winner: Muareen Cousins (41) Square, Runner Up: Penny McCarthy (34) 3 Down. Congratulations to Barbara on a great round and good to see Maureen back to her best form as well!
9 Hole Players – Winner: Lee Grubb (44) 1 Up, Runner Up: Gerri Robson (41) 3 Down. Well done ladies, think you are both ready for 18 holes now!

Next week is Stableford and the 2nd round of the Senga McAleer Trophy for the 18 hole ladies, please remember to book online by Thursday night. We are starting on the 10th tee so the 9 hole ladies can play the back 9, remember to allow extra time to get to the tee please.The draw will be emailed to all 9 hole players by Diane Tullberg on Friday while Linda will email the 18 hole draw on Saturday after returning from Port Fairy.
