Ladies Golf Results – Tuesday 21st January 2020

Today was the first competition event for the new decade & the ladies were greeted by an overcast but calm day, perfect for golf. Both the 9 (13 in total) & 18 (27 in total) hole ladies were playing stroke & counting putts plus it was the qualifying event for the Summer Cup for all ladies. The 18 hole players were also competing for the January Monthly Medal while Jean Harle & Cheryl Westcott were playing off for the December Monthly Medal so it was a very busy day. It was fabulous to see 3 ladies (Di Camilleri, Gerri Robson & Sharon DeHaan) from last years 9 hole players join the 18 hole event to start the year. We hope you stay! The day did not start well though as the internet was down & remained so all day so it was back to using manual cards & checking them all when they came in. It’s easy to forget how much longer it takes without technology but we got there in the end! Results for the day are below:

18 Hole Players – B Grade Winner: Judith Whittaker (30) Nett 71, Runner Up: Barbara Bright (16) Nett 72. C Grade Winner: Sharon DeHaan (36) Nett 70, Runner Up: Gerri Robson (43) Nett 73. Congratulations to all ladies but particularly to Sharon who at her first attempt is the January Monthly Medal winner, a great effort! Also well done to Gerri who was also competing in her first Medal event. The golf clinics held over recent years have certainly unearthed some talented ladies. Well done also to Jean Harle who was the winner by 2 shots in the play off with Cheryl Westcott for the December Monthly Medal. Thanks to Lee Grubb for the photos below.

9 Hole Players – Winner: Kath Dobson (43) Nett 35, Runner Up: Lee Grubb (43) Nett 37 on count back from Susan Driver. Apologies to Susan for not announcing this yesterday, this was due to your score showing in the incorrect place on the score card.

Putting – 18 Hole Winner: Jean Harle with 26 putts. 9 Hole Winner: Diane Tullberg with 14 putts on count back from Susan Driver.

N.T.P’s – 6th Hole: Judith Whittaker, 12th Hole: Denise Law.

Pro Balls – 18 Hole Players: Colleen Warfield, Joan Spence, Denise Law, Lyn Greer, Penny McCarthy, Vicki Mallcott & Linda Fredricson. 9 Hole Players: Susan Driver, Diane Tullberg, Pat Tindal, Judy Ireland & Ros Champion.

Congratulations to Helen Short who was the numbers raffle winner!

Next week all ladies will be playing Matchplay with the top 8 & top 16 from today’s 9 & 18 hole events respectively playing the first round of the Summer Cup. Good luck to all!
