Ladies Golf Results – Tuesday 22nd October 2019

A perfect Spring day for golf although a little cool to start with, once the sun came out it was quite warm. It was lovely to see a few more familiar faces returning from long holidays in warmer climates too! Today was the 2nd round of the Foursomes Championships for both the 9 & 18 hole ladies with both events very close after the 1st round and a total of 46 entered. Unfortunately Lyn Greer had to withdraw due to back issues bringing the total down to 45 but Sue White managed to play with 2 partners so was the only one to actually play a full round of golf! As the 9 hole ladies were playing the back 9 for the 2nd round most players started from the 10th tee which is quite a challenge. Results for the day event and championships are below:

18 Hole Players – Day Event Winners: Viv Goodson & Helen Danson (36) Nett 68, Runners Up: Joan Spence & Barbara Bright (23) Nett 73. Championship Winners: Milica Cole & Linda Fredricson (16.5) Gross 187, Runners Up: Joan Spence & Barbara Bright (23) Gross 188. A very close contest, congratulations to all players!

9 Hole Players – Day Event Winners: Lee Grubb & Pat Tindal (23) Nett 36, Runners Up: Ros Frame & Marj Burridge (18.5) Nett 36.5. Championship Winners: Lee Grubb & Pat Tindal (23) Gross 119, Runners Up: Sharon DeHaan & Cheryl Saker (21.5) Gross 129. Congratulations to all ladies and to Sharon & Cheryl, who were competing in their first trophy event, what a great effort.

NTP’s – 6th Hole: Milica Cole (2nd shot in the hole!), 13th Hole : Barbara Bright.

Pro Balls 18 Hole Players: Val Morrison, Denise Law, Cathy Roussis, Jenny Williamson & Judith Whittaker. 9 Hole Players: Gerri Robson, Irene Hedges, Cheryl Saker & Sharon DeHaan.

Good luck to Colleen Warfield, Jean Harle & Michele Cooke who are playing at Mornington on Thursday in the Challenge Bowl. Also to Janine O’Sullivan & Linda Fredricson who qualified for the District final of the Play 9 event to be held at Devilbend on Sunday 27th and Milica Cole, Lyn Greer & Linda Fredricson who are competing for the Moonah Links Challenge Bowl on Monday 28th on the Legends course!

Next week is a 9 hole fun Ambrose event when it is a 9am shotgun start and the Lady Captain’s rules are in play so it will be a fun day! This will be followed by our annual Appreciation Day lunch provided by all lady members so the food is always delicious then the AGM. Be sure to book online for golf by Thursday night (24th October) as a random draw will be done on Friday to ensure each team has a mix of 9 & 18 hole players. This draw will be emailed to all players, will be updated on the booking sheet online and will also be in the Pro Shop by Saturday.

Good golfing all and enjoy the warm days ahead!
