A perfect day for golf, no wind, lovely sunshine & not too warm. The 18 hole ladies were playing Match Play as it was the 1st round of the Summer Cup while for the 9 hole ladies it was a Stableford event.

There were a total of 41 ladies on the course, a great turn out, with results as follows:

9 Hole Ladies – Winner: Judith Whittaker (42) 20 points, Runner Up: Sue Simpson (44) 18 points. Great scoring ladies!

Match Play Results:

Jean Harle (28) defeated Kim Reynolds (37) 5/4, Glenn Barber (44) defeated Irene Hedges 5/3 (45) Note: This match was a ‘friendly’ as both players had walk over wins to go to the next round of the Summer Cup. Barbara Bright (22) defeated Pam Scholtz (28) 6/5, Denise Law (29) defeated Angie Waters (27) 4/3, Penny McCarthy (37) defeated Linda Fredricson (24) 6/5, Lyn Greer (33) defeated Maureen Cousins 1 up, Helen Danson (42) defeated Val Morrison (33) 5/3, Margaret Carroll (40) defeated Enid Hamilton (42) 3 up, Joan Spence (31) defeated Viv Goodson (33) 2 up & Cathy Roussis was 2 up against Jenny Dovison (31) when they had to stop due to a delay on course with green fee players. This match was a ‘friendly’ as neither played in the qualifying round. All the winners received a ball & all the losers a Pro Ball so there were no losers on the day!

Next week is the 2nd round of the Summer Cup for the 18 hole players so another round of Match Play while the 9 hole event is Par which everyone loves!!
