A perfect day for golf today when the ladies were all playing Handicap Match Play. Several in both the 9 & 18 hole groups were playing the first round of the Summer Cup while the remainder played to gain experience in this format. Altogether there were 42 ladies on course – 14*9 hole players & 28*18 hole players so a great turn out. The results for the day are below:
18 Hole Summer Cup Matches – Sharon deHaan (35) defeated Di Camilleri (45) 4&3, Denise Law (25) defeated Pam Scholtz (35) 5&4, Joan Spence (26) defeated Jenny Dovison (34) 3&1, Liz Gregory (28) defeated Gerri Robson (42) 4&2, Lyn Greer (30) defeated Sue O’Connor (31) 6&4, Penny McCarthy (34) defeated Joan Coombs (37) 4&2, Jean Harle (28) defeated Barbara Bright (16) 4&3. Other 18 Hole Results – Colleen Blackmore (27) defeated Jodi Crago (27) 8&6, Jeanette Bourke (37) defeated Ros Frame(24) 3&2, Cheryl Westcott (35) & Cathy Roussis (35) All Square, Viv Goodson (33) & Jenny Williamson (37) All Square, Maureen Cousins (37) & Helen Davis (25) All Square, Sue White (45) defeated Wendy Simmons (45) 10&8. Some close tussles but generally the feedback was that all enjoyed the experience.
9 Hole Summer Cup Matches – Glenn Barber (39) defeated Kath Dobson (43) 3&2, Lee Grubb (43) defeated Ros Champion (45) 4&3, Judy Ireland (45) defeated Susan Driver (41) 3&2, Diane Tullberg (37) defeated Pat Tindal (44) 1 Up after 1 extra hole, an excellent match. Other 9 Hole Results – Caroline Lester (44) & Irene Hedges (45) All Square, Barbara Clarke (35) defeated Renate Weiner (45) 4&2, and Joan Davies (41) defeated Marj Burridge (45) 4&2.
All winners today in the respective Summer Cup events must now arrange matches with their opponents (as per the draws in the change rooms) in their own time with all matches, including finals to be completed by the end of March. Remember also that both final matches must have a referee.

Next week is Stroke Putting, Monthly Medal, 1st Round of Club Championship & 1st Round of Silver Spoon Qualifying for the 18 hole players. Be ready for a busy day next Tuesday! The 9 hole ladies will also be playing Stroke & counting putts plus it is also the 1st Round of the 9 Hole Club Championship. All players must book online by Thursday night and both seeded draws will be emailed to all players by Saturday morning, all going well.
