Ladies Golf Results – Tuesday 29th October 2019

It was more like a summer day today for the 9-hole Ambrose fun event which was a shotgun start at 9am so all ladies could enjoy the Appreciation Day lunch prior to the Ladies AGM. A total of 43 ladies played to Linda’s rules for the day today with many enjoying a gin & tonic on the 7th but not so much the blindfold shot on the 4th which happened to be the NTP hole! I also heard that some enjoyed using the mini golf putters while others really struggled. The general feedback was it was a fun day and the laughs in the clubhouse during lunch certainly indicated that. Speaking of lunch, what an amazing job the ladies did. The food was incredible, so much to choose from & even left overs to take home for those who wanted them. Well done & thanks to Joan Davies, Judy Hunter, Lee Grubb, Diane Tullberg & Margaret Carroll who were the co-ordinators on the day, you did a great job along with everyone else who helped out on the day.

At the AGM the Ladies Committee welcomed 3 new ladies who will be joining the team for the 2020 year – Colleen Blackmore, Lee Grubb & Joan Coombs and thanked Gerri Robson, Barbara Sargent & Lucy Bond for all their hard work. Barbara & Lucy will still be involved in a social sub-committee capacity so will be called on for all catering requirements as they are experts in this field!  Colleen is the new Vice President, while some ladies on the committee have changed roles – Joan Spence from Vice President to Vice Captain and Barbara Bright from Vice Captain to Treasurer. All other positions remain the same – Viv Goodson (President) Linda Fredricson (Captain) Lynn Gray (Secretary) Milica Cole (Handicapper) while Lee & Joan join as general committee members. It’s nice to see some new faces becoming involved.

As 1 team had to play as a 3 person team due to a late withdrawal, these ladies each received a ball each: Maureen Cousins, Sue White & Cheryl Saker. Congratulations to all ladies & apologies for the mix up with announcements on the day.

There is no golf next Tuesday as it is Melbourne Cup Day, good luck to you if you plan to have a punt on the big race. Shane has agreed to run a separate Ladies Stableford Pro Comp (18 holes) on Wednesday the 6th November with a $10 entry fee for those who are interesting in having a game. You must book online and the draw will be as per the booking sheet.

Tuesday 12th November will be Stroke Putting and Monthly Medal for the 18 hole ladies so be sure to book online. As usual the draw will be seeded and emailed to you all. Thanks to Lee Grubb for the photos below.
