Ladies Golf Results – Tuesday 30th April 2019

Another amazing Autumn day, a bit chilly to start with but the sun soon warmed things up. Great to see so many ladies playing today, 49 in total, including several new members for the first time. There were 27 playing 18 holes & 22 playing 9 holes so the club house was very noisy when everyone finished playing. All ladies were playing Par with the 18 hole players competing for the Stan Petty Trophy. Sadly Stan passed away in January and would have turned 93 this weekend. Results for the day are below:

18 Hole Players – Winner B Grade: Jean Harle (29) 2 Down on count back from Runner Up Lnn Gray (28) who was second on count back from Barbara Bright (20) a very close contest indeed! Winner C Grade: Sue O’Connor (33) 2 Down on count back from Runner Up Cheryl Westcott (37) so once again extremely close. Frank McAleer spoke briefly about Stan Petty while Shane Johnson agreed to sponsor the event and together they presented the trophy to the winner Sue O’Connor who won on count back from the other 4 players with a score of 2 Down! Congratulations Sue, great effort after starting slowly and coming from 6 down as well as losing 3 balls along the way!

9 Hole Players – Winner: Sharon De Haan (38) 3 Up, Runner Up: Anita Powell (35) 2 Up. A big congratulations to Sharon who was playing in her first Tuesday competition event, a perfect start!

NTP’s – 2nd Hole: Lynn Gray, 17th Hole: Milica Cole. Well done to you both.

Pro Balls – 18 Hole Players: Barbara Bright, Lyn Greer, Denise Law, Michele Cooke, Colleen Warfield & Cathy Roussis. 9 Hole Players: Jeanette Bourke, Diane Tullberg, Lee Grubb, Joan Davies & Pat Tindal.

Don’t forget that the Pennant Dinner is being held on Thursday night at Dromana Dumpling Restaurant, it’s bound to be a fun night.

Good luck to all our ladies playing in the Challenge Bowl event at Mt Martha on Thursday 2nd May: Colleen Warfield, Colleen Blackmore, Corina Cross, Michele Cooke, Cathy Roussis & Anita Powell. Also to the ladies playing in the Flinders Challenge Bowl on Monday 6th May: Cathy Roussis, Anita Powell, Jodi Crago & Linda Fredricson.

Remember to enter a team in the 9 Hole Mixed Ambrose Mower Fundraiser event on Sunday the 26th May. Only $15 per head which includes a BBQ, should be a fun day!
