What a day the ladies experienced for golf today. It felt more like Winter with a top of 15 degrees forecast and horrendous winds. Who said it was Summer? It was very surprising that 31 ladies (19*18 hole & 12*9 hole) turned up to play, well done to you all! The event was Stroke Putting & the December Monthly Medal plus Star Medalist for the 18 hole players while the 9 hole ladies played stroke & also counted putts. Considering the weather there were some pretty impressive scores posted as per below:
18 Hole Players – B Grade Winner: Jean Harle (28) Nett 70, Runner Up: Barbara Bright (18) Nett 72. C Grade Winner: Cheryl Westcott (36) Nett 70, Runner Up: Maureen Cousins (40) Nett 73. As there was a tie between Jean & Cheryl, these 2 ladies will play off for the December medal when we return in January 2020. Barbara Bright was a clear 2019 Star Medalist winner though. Congratulations to Barbara and all the other ladies as well, excellent scores in that weather.
9 Hole Players – Winner: Judy Ireland (45) Nett 36, Runner Up: Sue White (45) Nett 38. Congratulations Judy, that whopper is finally working for you!
Putting – 18 Hole Players: Barbara Bright with 28 putts. 9 Hole Players: Renate Weiner with 14 putts, great effort both of you.
NTP’s – 8th Hole: Barbara Bright, 14th Hole: Jean Harle. These 2 ladies had quite a day & obviously had little trouble with the conditions!
Pro Balls – 18 Hole Players: Joan Spence, Sue O’Connor, Val Morrison & Vicki Mallcott. 9 Hole Players: Lee Grubb, Diane Tullberg & Margaret Carroll.
Next week is the 2019 Trophy Presentation Day. The day commences at 9am with a 9 hole Ambrose event (shotgun start) followed by lunch then trophy presentations. Golf will cost $5 and the draw will be emailed to all by Saturday, all going well. Please remember to wear something Christmassy next week when the dress code is always more relaxed. Don’t forget it is the last chance to bring gifts for the Mornington Community House too.
