Today was Opening Day for the 2018 season for ladies golf with a fun 9 hole Ambrose event held to start the year off. There were 47 ladies who played golf & almost 60 for lunch which was a sausage sizzle & salad. Lots of stories & laughs were shared about playing blind fold off the tee on the 5th hole & using different clubs off the 9th tee as well as using the very high tees on the 2nd. All in all a fun day was enjoyed followed by yummy food so everyone is now ready to get into the 2018 golfing year. The Ambrose results were as follows:

Winners: Barbara Sargent (37) Teresa Lincoln (32) & Susan Driver (45) with 28.5

Runners Up: Joan Spence (31) Jean Harle (28) & Debbie Williams (45) with 30.35

Third Place: Glenn Barber (43) Barbara Bright (22) & Anne George (45) with 30.85

There was an Encouragement Award which went to Joan Coombs, Sue Simpson & Anne Bowen.

The event next week for both the 9 & 18 hole players is Stroke/Putting plus qualifying for the Summer Cup for the 18 hole players. Looks like a busy day with around 50 players involved & a nice sunny 27 degrees forecast!
