Good weather, good numbers. I heard that 89 teed off, despite an announcement that only 67 players were signed in. I believe the 89, because raffle sales indicate that figure to be much nearer the mark. Winners of Cliffex meat trays were Rob di Virgilio and Harry Porter, and the six-pack of Crown Lager was won by John Kuchel. For those of you who are not aware of where Cliffex Meats trades, it is in the IGA complex opposite the Rosebud Cinemas in central Rosebud. Cliffex recently underwent its annual submission of their processed meats to the powers that be and came out with a heap of first and second prizes for its smoked meats, ham, bacon and kabana. You may have noticed that newspapers recently have reported that the bacon on sale in Australia is mainly imported. Cliffex does its own, and not only that recommends cooking times. This is a high quality operation, and we recommend that readers and club members show themselves up at their counter to voice their approval and buy. While you’re at it, give the Safety Beach Golf Club a mention. We are very happy with their service, quality and attention to our requirements.
